Find of the week: non-edible treats

None of this week's finds are food, but most are food-related.

First up is LaVanila perfumes. The scents come in pure vanilla, vanilla blossom, and grapefruit vanilla. Mmmm, you will smell like dessert! The best part is, they're made without those nasty preservative chemicals that can irritate sensitive skin. They're even made with antioxidants. All right, it's not skincare per se, but it is fragrance that's kind to your skin. Oh yeah, and Lane did the illustration work for the packaging.

Someone faaaaaabulous sent me the loveliest thank-you gift the other day, this adorable block print towel. Art Goodies hand prints these nature-inspired designs on tea towels, aprons, and books. They have some valentine-themed prints up now. You can buy them on Etsy, an online market with loads of fantastic hand-made delights.

Lately I've been obsessed with Gotan Project. A friend of mine just bought the new album, Lunatico, and ever since hearing it I've been listening to the tracks they have on their website the same way other girls moon in front of shoe store windows. It's tango/electronica, just the thing to sex-up your midwinter enui. Don't you think this album would make the best Valentine's Day gift?

I saw La Vanilla last night at Sephora, but didn't recognize the artist behind the groovy packaging. Will have to inspect more closely next time! And sniff, although I was already covered in Origins and L'Occitane by that time.

Lane's work is so beautiful and detailed, I'm thinking he needs to get into some scrapbook designing, thats where the REAL money is....(at least a lot of my money) hey on that note I just remembered i've come across some scrapbook stuff that is designed by a Rob Blackart (sp?) whom I'm quite sure is the same RB we Chelsea girls knew in NY....you know, those were pearls...
