Loot from Sunday's farmer's market

Three posts today! We went to the California Avenue farmer's market. In addition to the above beauties, I also picked up an herb-y rotisserie chicken, fresh naan and homemade mango chutney, and pretty mixed greens with nasturium and blue flower petals.

Now what am I going to do with that fresh cactus?

Afterwards we met a family while goofing around a fountain. We knew they were cool because they let their 2-year-old play in the fountain naked and when Jasper spilled his cheddar bunnies on the ground the mom scooped them up and ate them anyway. We should have exchanged numbers/e-mail and made plans to get together. But since we're here just for the summer we didn't. Foolish us! We still have five weeks here. Why be so bashful?

Bummer! Maybe they'll be there another time.

Gorgeous loot. Can't wait to see what you do with the cactus.

My sister in law once made the cactus into salsa. It was quite good really.
