I would love a skirt that looks just like this radicchio. This variety has broader, longer leaves and a more subtle bitterness (though I don't know if it would be subtle enough for Swizzy). I roasted a little with a chicken last night and it turned brown. It tasted great, but such a pity about the color. I was also going to mince it and add it to tonight's manicotti, but doesn't it call for some more dignified treatment? I'll have to rethink that.
Meanwhile, it made the perfect wintertime sandwich with some leftover roast beef and Derbyshire cheddar.
