I'm sure this salad has appeared on the pages of Martha Stewart or Everyday Food or other such magazine, no doubt covered in slivered almonds, which I did at least have the restraint to omit. But it sounded good today, even though strawberries are out of season. I just sliced two small fennel bulbs very thin, added the sliced strawberries, and drizzled the good balsamic over it. Oh yes, and a little bit of sea salt. Good, but only if you love fennel. I keep thinking it needed something else, though, like salami. Hmmm.
